Available Apprenticeship Trades
Successful applicants will receive training in one of the following specialised printing trades:
- Lithography Press
- Electronic Pre-Press
- Mechanised Bookbinding
- Gravure Press
- Sheetfed Press
What the Apprenticeship Includes
The apprenticeship is structured over three years and includes both theoretical and workplace-based training.
Phase 1
- Approximately 3 – 4 months of theoretical training at the training academy.
Phase 2 – 4
- Approximately 26 – 30 months of practical workplace training at Novus Print.
During the programme, apprentices will receive:
- Facilitated theoretical learning
- Practical on-the-job experience
- Training through the academy and Printing SA
- Preparation for the relevant trade test
Please note: Successful completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent employment with Novus Print.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- At least 60% for Mathematical Literacy (where applicable)
- A copy of your Matric certificate or latest results
- A technical background or foundation will be an added advantage
