Stellenbosch University has opened applications for 12 Patrol Officer positions at its Stellenbosch Campus in the Western Cape. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified security professionals who hold a PSIRA Grade B registration and are passionate about campus safety and security.
Successful candidates will be responsible for proactive foot and motorcycle patrols, emergency response, alarm and CCTV monitoring, and providing safety support to students, staff, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Conducting proactive foot and motorcycle patrols across campus.
- Monitoring alarms and CCTV systems.
- Responding to emergencies and disasters on campus.
- Assisting with fire drills in residences and academic buildings.
- Providing escort services to students, staff, and visitors.
- Identifying and reporting safety and criminal risks.
- Assisting community members and providing excellent customer service.
- Acting as an enquiry and information point during patrols.
- Performing standby duties and responding to incidents promptly.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate).
- Valid PSIRA Grade B registration.
- PSIRA Event registration.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
- Contactable work references.
- Clear criminal record.
- Good physical and mental health.
- Ability to work shifts and overtime when required.
- Own transport to and from work.
- Ability to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions.
Recommended Qualifications
The following will serve as an advantage:
- Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
- Motorcycle licence.
- Computer literacy.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
