Programme Overview
The Western Cape Mobility Department is recruiting Student Cadet Traffic Officers to complete a:
Further Education and Training Certificate: Road Traffic Law Enforcement
Training Venue: Gene Louw Traffic College
Start Date: 08 June 2026
Duration: 12 Months

Minimum Requirements
To qualify, you must:
- Have Grade 12 (Matric)
- Hold a valid Code B (manual) driver’s license
- Be physically fit
- Have no criminal record
- Be 35 years old or younger
- Have no visible tattoos or prohibited piercings
- Be willing to undergo:
- Medical & drug tests
- Fitness assessments
- Psychometric evaluation
⚠️ Note: Due to the physical nature of the training, pregnant applicants will not be considered.
What You’ll Do
- Enforce road traffic laws
- Promote road safety and crime prevention
- Conduct traffic control and policing
- Perform administrative duties
- Work shifts (including nights and weekends)

- This bursary does NOT guarantee permanent employment
- You’ll sign a 12-month training contract
- Ongoing fitness and drug testing applies
- Selection includes interviews + assessments
