African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) has opened applications for the 2025 ARM Bursary Programme, aimed at supporting talented and motivated students from the University of Limpopo. The initiative is part of ARM’s ongoing commitment to developing skilled professionals, empowering communities, and driving transformation within South Africa’s mining and minerals sector.
ARM is one of South Africa’s leading diversified mining and minerals companies, with operations spanning across South Africa and Malaysia. The company mines and beneficiates iron ore, manganese ore, chrome ore, platinum group metals (PGMs), nickel, and coal, and holds a strategic investment in gold through Harmony Gold Mining Company.
What the Bursary Covers
Successful applicants will receive comprehensive financial support, including:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees for the duration of the course
- Accommodation (official institutional residence)
- Laptop and textbooks
- Meals
This ensures that recipients can focus fully on their academic and professional growth without financial burden.
Fields of Study
The ARM bursaries are offered in the following disciplines:
- Bachelor of Science in Geology
- Bachelor of Science Honours in Geology
- Bachelor of Science Honours in Mining Geology
- Bachelor of Science Honours (Mineral Processing and Ore Beneficiation)
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Resource Studies
- Bachelor of Science Honours in Geography and Environmental Studies
Who Can Apply
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Be current University of Limpopo students who have completed their first, second, or third year
- Submit the following documents:
- Valid and certified South African ID
- Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate
- Academic records from the University
- University acceptance letter

Additional Information

Applicants who already receive another bursary will not be considered, and ARM will only cover costs associated with the granted bursary.
Academic performance plays a key role in the selection process.
