About the Engineering Learnership Programme
If you’re an unemployed South African youth with a passion for engineering, mining, and technical trades, this is your opportunity to gain practical workplace experience at one of South Africa’s leading platinum producers.
Valterra Platinum (formerly Anglo American Platinum) is offering Engineering Learnerships (18.2) aimed at developing scarce technical skills while preparing learners for long-term careers in the mining and engineering sector.
This programme combines theoretical training and hands-on workplace exposure at the Amandelbult Mine.

Learnership: Electrician ×2
Learnership: Boilermaker ×2
Learnership: Mechanical Fitter ×2
Learnership: Diesel Mechanic ×3
Learnership: Measurement Control & Instrumentation ×2
Learnership: Auto Electrician ×2
Learnership: Millwright ×2
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet ONE of the following:
Matric with Mathematics (not Maths Lit), Physical Science, and English (minimum 40% each), OR
N2 or higher, including Mathematics and Engineering Science, aligned to the specific trade, OR
NCV Level 4 in a relevant engineering trade (minimum 40% pass in all subjects)
Trade-specific theory requirements apply (e.g. Electrical Trade Theory, Engineering Drawings, Industrial Electronics).
