About the Learnership

Unilever is offering an exciting 12-month unemployed learnership opportunity for young South Africans who are eager to gain practical manufacturing and supply chain experience.

This learnership is designed to equip participants with hands-on production, packaging, safety, and basic mechanical skills, while working with automated packaging equipment in a world-class manufacturing environment.

Learnership Purpose

The programme aims to train learners to:

Package products using automated machinery

Follow strict health, safety, and quality standards

Build technical, communication, and teamwork skills

Understand production line coordination and basic equipment maintenance

This opportunity is ideal for unemployed youth looking to enter the manufacturing, production, or supply chain sector.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general production line operations and cleaning tasks

Conduct pre-start-up equipment and safety checks

Monitor product and packaging quality against set standards

Identify and report equipment or process faults

Assist with cleaning and maintaining machinery

Prepare raw materials for production

Ensure personal and team safety at all times

Support eco-efficient and sustainable work practices

Complete all learnership assessments, logbooks, and assignments

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must have:

Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science, OR

N2 / N3 / N4 Engineering qualification

Be unemployed

Be willing to work onsite at the Anderbolt Factory

Be able to relocate at own cost if not currently residing nearby
