Successful candidates will handle deposits, process cash, sort notes and coins, and ensure accurate reconciliation of transactions while maintaining strict security and operational standards.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the position, applicants must have:
Grade 12 (Matric) with Maths Literacy as a minimum
Previous cashier or teller experience (6 months – advantageous)
Ability to work with cash processing systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and organisational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving Cash
Employees will receive customer deposits and capture them on the company’s system while ensuring all policies and procedures are followed to reduce risk.
Cash Preparation
Cash containers or bags must be checked for damage or tampering before processing. All deposits must be recorded and processed according to banking service level agreements.
Note Sorting
Workers must sort and process notes within the required time frames while ensuring each deposit balances correctly. Any discrepancies must be reported to the Team Controller.
Reconciliation
Staff will reconcile rejected notes, check for counterfeit or damaged currency, and perform daily balancing of all cash transactions.
Deposit Processing
Deposits must be processed accurately and kept separate per customer to ensure correct crediting of accounts.
Coin Processing
Employees will process bulk coin deposits, verify bins and seals, and ensure accurate counting and reconciliation.
Payroll and Change Handling
Processing payroll cash and change requests according to bank service level agreements.
Treasury Support
Assist with the packing and unpacking of ATM and bank cash, ensuring proper documentation and security procedures are followed.
Equipment and System Management
Employees must use cash-processing equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and report any machine faults or downtime to supervisors.
Governance and Compliance
Staff must support the quality standards of SBV Services, including compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
