Job Purpose
The Shop Assistant / Cashier P27 role focuses on delivering an excellent shopping experience for customers. Successful candidates will assist with stock replenishment, merchandising, housekeeping, and handling transactions at till points.
This role is ideal for individuals who are highly motivated, energetic, and customer service–driven.
Minimum Skills & Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, candidates should have:
Excellent customer service skills
Good communication skills (fluent in English; other languages are an advantage)
High energy levels
A motivated and target-driven attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Previous retail experience (advantageous but not always required)
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service
Provide excellent service to ensure a great shopping experience
Assist customers in finding products in the store
Handle customer queries and complaints professionally
- Cashier Duties
Process cash and card payments
Handle Lay-Bys and refunds
Report discrepancies or issues to supervisors
Ensure till balancing
- Merchandising
Ensure products are correctly priced and displayed
Maintain stock availability on the sales floor
Keep the store clean and organised
Stay updated with store promotions
- Risk & Compliance
Ensure products are properly tagged according to company policy
Participate in stock takes
Watch for shoplifting or fraudulent activities and report them
