Learnership Overview
This Claims Learnership Programme offers unemployed youth the opportunity to gain practical insurance and claims handling experience within a regulated short-term insurance environment.
Learners will be trained to process insurance claims, assess liability, negotiate settlements, and deliver excellent customer service, while ensuring compliance with insurance regulations and internal policies.
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric)
No previous work experience required
South African citizen
Preference given to persons with disabilities
Key Responsibilities
Claims Administration & Processing
Register and capture new insurance claims
Validate claims and supporting documentation
Assess liability in line with policy cover
Calculate claim amounts and verify quantum
Update claim reserves and maintain accurate records
Process and approve claims within delegated authority
Escalate complex claims to supervisors when required
Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and internal procedures
Respond to customer enquiries professionally and timeously
Broker & Agency Liaison
Communicate with brokers and agent companies
Negotiate and follow up on claim settlements
Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders
Ad-Hoc Duties
Perform reasonable tasks assigned by the Line Manager
