The CETA Thapelo Madibeng Bursary Scheme 2026 is now open and accepting applications from unemployed South African students who want to study built-environment qualifications at public universities and TVET colleges.
This bursary is aimed at empowering young people with careers in construction, engineering, and the built environment, while easing the financial burden of higher education.
What Does the CETA Bursary Cover?
Eligible students may receive funding for:
- Full tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
- Accommodation and meals
- Transport allowance (where applicable)
- Research funding (Master’s & PhD students only)
Who Should Apply?
You qualify if you:
- Are a South African citizen
- Are currently unemployed
- Plan to study a built-environment course
- Are registered or accepted at a public higher education institution
- Have achieved at least 50% overall average
- Come from a household earning below R600,000 per year
